Step 1: treating the gum disease
The first step in the treatment was to address the periodontal disease. Gum disease is a serious condition that affects the structures supporting the teeth, including the bone and the gum. If it is not treated in time, it can lead to tooth loss.
In advanced cases like this one, rigorous monitoring and follow-up are essential to ensure the disease is under control before moving on to the next stages of treatment.
Step 2: clear aligners
Once the infection was under control, the next step was clear aligner treatment with Dr. Diego Peydro. Badly positioned teeth affect not only appearance but can also make cleaning difficult, perpetuating periodontal problems. Clear aligners are not just a discreet option: they also allow better oral hygiene during treatment.
A tailored treatment plan was developed using clear aligners, designed specifically to move the teeth into the right position gradually and precisely. That process not only improved the alignment of the teeth but also made daily cleaning easier for the patient, reducing the risk of the periodontal disease returning.
Step 3: connective tissue graft
The gum loss caused by the disease had left the roots of the teeth exposed, which was not only unattractive but also painful and harmful to dental health in the long term. To improve the quality of the gum and protect the roots, a connective tissue graft was carried out.
Step 4: porcelain veneers and teeth whitening
With the periodontal disease under control, the teeth aligned and the gum regenerated, the patient was ready for the last step: the esthetic restoration. Porcelain veneers are an excellent solution for improving the appearance of the teeth. These thin sheets of porcelain are bonded to the front surface of the teeth, correcting problems of color, shape and size.
Teeth whitening complemented the treatment, giving a brighter, more even smile. The whitening was carried out before the veneers were fitted so as to ensure an even, natural color across the whole dentition.
