Composite veneers in a patient with gum recession
Our patient, a 40-year-old man, came in with several dental problems affecting both the way his teeth looked and his oral health.
The initial diagnosis revealed two main problems:
- Severe crowding: the crowding affected not only the appearance of his smile but also made proper oral hygiene difficult, which increased the risk of decay and periodontal disease.
- Gum recession: the recession had exposed the roots of several teeth, causing sensitivity and compromising the look of his smile.
To address the crowding, we started with orthodontic treatment. That step was crucial to align the teeth before going ahead with the composite veneers and to ensure a lasting result.
With the teeth aligned, the next step in the treatment was teeth whitening. This procedure matters because it ensures an even, bright tooth color before the composite veneers are applied.

The final stage of the treatment focused on improving the look of the teeth with composite veneers. Dr. Marta Peydro took charge of this stage, drawing on her experience to restore the shape, size and overall appearance of the patient’s teeth.
Composite veneers are an excellent solution for esthetic restorations, especially in cases of gum recession. Here, composite veneers were used to cover the areas of recession and improve the appearance of the affected teeth.
