Multiple missing teeth treated with implants and overdentures
It is very common for patients to lose teeth gradually because of decay and periodontal disease. In most cases the teeth fall out little by little, so that many patients get used to biting however they can.
However, if nothing is done about the situation, the patient eventually loses much of their dentition, to the point of being unable to eat normally.
That is the case with this patient, who came to the practice after losing several teeth over the last few years. His objective as soon as he walked into the treatment room was clear: to be able to eat normally.
TREATMENT:
Dental implants
DURATION:
Less than 24 hours

The treatment plan for the rehabilitation
As soon as she had studied his case, Dr. Marta Peydro realized the patient urgently needed a full rehabilitation, which is why she planned an upper and lower rehabilitation with dental implants.
To do that, the doctor decided to carry out the extractions on the same day as the implants were placed, so that in a single procedure we removed the damaged teeth and the infection and placed the bases that would later hold the overdentures.
In this patient’s case we chose to place 4 implants in the upper arch and 4 in the lower arch. The final prosthesis was an overdenture anchored to the 4 implants. It is a removable prosthesis, which makes cleaning the mouth and teeth easier for patients who have not had good hygiene habits in the past.
Thanks to this straightforward treatment carried out in less than 24 hours, the patient can chew again. On top of that, as you can see in the photographs, his facial appearance has also improved after restoring the support for the facial soft tissue of the lips and cheeks.
At Clínica Peydro we want to remind you how important it is to come in as soon as you lose your first tooth. The sooner the causes are detected, the sooner we can act and prevent further tooth loss.
Once that part was complete, the final esthetic work was carried out: teeth whitening and composite build-ups to close the black periodontal gaps.
When you work with a specialist like Dr. Marta Peydro, the final result can look this natural. Fitting dental veneers does not always mean a fake, artificial smile.
