Same-day dental implants in the upper teeth
Today we are showing you the case of Olga, a patient who came to our clinic complaining of discomfort and problems with the way her teeth looked, related to an old dental bridge on her lower teeth and to the appearance of her upper teeth. Olga wanted to improve both the function and the appearance of her smile.
After a full assessment, we decided on treatment with dental implants in the upper teeth and on replacing the old bridge so as to prevent bacteria building up
The treatment plan was designed in two main stages:
Dental implant stage in the upper teeth:
- Placing dental implants where the missing upper teeth had been.
- After an osseointegration period of around three months, white porcelain crowns would be fitted onto the implants
Bridge replacement stage in the lower teeth:
- Removing the old dental bridge.
- Preparing the abutment teeth.
- Fitting white porcelain crowns onto the lower abutment teeth.
Finally, precise impressions of the teeth were taken so that the porcelain crowns could be made at the dental laboratory. While the final crowns were being made, temporary crowns were fitted to protect the teeth and maintain chewing function.
Once ready, the porcelain crowns were tried in and adjusted to ensure a perfect fit and a proper bite. Finally, the definitive crowns were cemented, resulting in a restoration that both looks good and works well.
The white porcelain crowns on the upper and lower teeth gave a natural, harmonious appearance alongside the remaining teeth. Olga’s chewing function improved significantly, and her self-confidence grew after her treatment
