Today we are presenting the case of a young patient who came to the practice wanting to improve the look of her smile. Specifically, she wanted to leave her gummy smile behind.
After studying her case, the doctor noticed that, as well as showing a lot of gum when she smiled, she also had a class II malocclusion, which was the main cause of her gummy smile.

The treatment plan for solving the gummy smile
To solve this case it was essential to go to the origin of the problem, so as to stop the gummy smile coming back over the years.
That is why our doctor decided to solve the class II the patient had with clear aligner treatment. As you can see in the images, her gummy smile improved significantly after that treatment.
Once her clear aligner treatment was over, the patient wanted to improve the final result with a small gingivoplasty, a minor procedure to remove the excess gum and reshape it.
Thanks to this treatment carried out by Dr. Marta Peydro, the patient’s gummy smile was eliminated entirely.
