Today we are showing you the case of a patient who came to our dental practice worried about the appearance of one of her front teeth, which had taken on a dark shade.
At the first appointment a thorough assessment was carried out. It was determined that the affected tooth was devitalized because of dental trauma. The diagnosis confirmed the presence of necrotic tissue in the pulp and the dental nerve, which had caused the tooth to blacken.
The aim of the treatment was to remove the necrotic tissue and restore the tooth’s natural color with professional whitening. The treatment plan included the following stages:
- Root canal treatment: removing the necrotic tissue from the pulp and the dental nerve.
- Internal whitening of the devitalized tooth: a specific procedure to whiten the tooth from the inside.
