Today we bring you the case of a patient who, after completing his orthodontic treatment at Clínica Peydro, went on to perfect his smile with the esthetic phase and finally achieved the spectacular smile he had always dreamed of.
When we treat an adult patient, it is very rare for orthodontic treatment alone to deliver the beautiful esthetic result the patient is really looking for. Patients’ teeth tend to show dental alterations such as wear, fractures, changes in color or black gaps between the teeth caused by periodontal disease.
In the case we are presenting today we decided to carry out a very conservative esthetic treatment. To give our patient whiter teeth, the first thing we did was a teeth whitening treatment. That allowed us to change the color of the teeth without affecting their structure.
We removed all the pigments that were altering the color of the patient’s teeth in order to achieve whiter teeth. The reasons this patient probably had that shade were his own diet, his lifestyle habits or simply his age. Once the teeth were as light as possible, we began rebuilding his upper incisors with a conservative treatment using high-esthetic composite.
With high-esthetic composite we reshaped the tooth structure the patient had lost to wear over the years. In a single session we restored the amount of enamel the teeth had lost, and the patient was able to show off a spectacular smile with whiter teeth, just as you can see in the photographs.
