Our patient came to Clínica Peydro after visiting several clinics where she was told her only option was orthognathic surgery. How did we correct her open bite without surgery?
Applying our own methodology, we followed a treatment plan in three key stages:
1. Transverse development of the arches

2. Coordinating the arches
We then worked on coordinating the dental arches so as to achieve a balanced bite. Using clear aligners and strategic movements, we achieved harmonious alignment between the upper and lower teeth.
3. Intruding the molars with microscrews
One of the most innovative aspects of this treatment was the use of orthodontic microscrews. Thanks to these devices, we were able to intrude the upper molars, which brought about a natural forward rotation of the mandible. That rotation closed the bite without the need for orthognathic surgery.
