Braces are the fixed orthodontic technique we have used over the years. They can be metal or porcelain.
What does a successful treatment with braces depend on?
Fundamentally, it depends on the orthodontist being highly experienced and having sound judgment when carrying out treatment. That is essential. We will achieve the same result with any bracket. What matters most is the specialist’s planning and the treatment plan.
What other factors, besides the dentist’s professionalism, does the treatment depend on?
A great deal depends on the quality of the material. The better the material we use, the easier it is for us to work, so the journey is easier for the patient. They will need to come to the clinic less often, they will have less discomfort, and so on.
At Clínica Peydro we use two types of fixed bracket technique. They are self-ligating techniques that let the brackets move with very little friction, which makes the movement as physiological as possible.
As everything has changed a great deal, we have the option of applying 3D technology to bracket technology. At our clinic we have traditional Damon brackets, which are low-friction brackets that work wonderfully and make the journey easy for the patient and the planned result easy for us to achieve. But there is a further step, which is what we call Damon Insignia brackets, where we use 3D technology to make your appliance to measure. Thanks to the 3D technology I use to scan your mouth and bring all the pieces together, I can make your brackets custom-made for you. That means we head much more directly towards the final result. As I said earlier, we reduce the number of visits, we reduce your discomfort, we shorten the treatment and, as the advantages of the system add up, we end up with a result a notch above other techniques.
